Logistics Manager (Customer Service, Exports & Warehousing)

Description: Hire Resolve's Client is currently looking for an experienced Logistics Manager (Customer Service, Exports & Warehousing) to join their mining company based in Gauteng. You will be responsible for leading customer service and logistics operations, managing team performance, ensuring customer satisfaction and overseeing order processing, stock availability and third-party logistics service providers.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a team of customer service and logistics specialists, overseeing daily operations and workflows.
• Monitor team performance against company policies, service level agreements and key performance indicators.
• Ensure effective communication and coordination between Sales, Production, Supply and other relevant stakeholders to maintain service levels.
• Ensure customer orders, samples and requests are managed, addressed and recorded in the ERP system within the required timeframes.
• Allocate customer portfolios and responsibilities across the team and ensure adequate support and cover when employees are on leave.
• Manage customer complaints and escalations, ensuring timely responses and appropriate corrective actions.
• Coordinate problem-solving activities and follow up on outstanding issues, escalating critical matters when necessary.
• Monitor customer demand against available stock levels and initiate timely replenishment where required.
• Communicate potential supply issues to relevant stakeholders.
• Manage the performance of third-party logistics service providers, including shipping lines and freight forwarders.
• Review and verify monthly billing reports from service providers.
• Resolve significant service provider issues and disputes, ensuring effective communication and follow-up.
• Drive process standardisation and continuous improvement to improve operational efficiency and service quality.
• Build a positive team environment and coach and mentor employees to support performance and development.

Requirements

• Grade 12
• Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or relevant field
• Minimum 5-10 years' experience in a managerial role within a mining or heavy manufacturing environment
• Extensive experience in supply chain management within an international environment
• Strong strategic planning and supply chain leadership experience
• Strong experience in export operations and warehousing
• Experience using SAP
• Extensive knowledge of customer service and logistics procedures
• Valid Driver's License

Remuneration & Benefits

• Salary: R1mil - R1.5mil P/A
• Paid Time Off (PTO) (If Applicable)
